The Norwegian Loop Collective (NLC) is a group of performing musicians who make use of looping as an integral part of ther music. It is an open society, anyone into looping can join. NLC represents an incentive for looping musicians in Norway to get togehter and further explore and experiment this musical realm. Read our manifest if you would like to learn more.
We hope to arrange a mini looping festival in Norway sometime soon, where besides performances by looping artists there will be plenty of opportunities to jam with your fellow loopers. If you would like to be a part of making this happen, get in touch. Anyone can help!
We do not have a dedicated online forum for NLC as of today, but we certainly will set one up if requested to do so by enough people. We have set up a facebook group (go there) for the society, where you can fraternize with your co-loopers and join discussions etc. There is also a mailing list for those who would like to be kept posted on any developments (join the mailing list). Once you have signed up for the mailing list you are considered a member.
Feel free to make suggestions as to how NLC can better get in touch with more loopers. Suggestions are happily accepted by e-mail.
We are also looking at ways of creating an online database and media player for looped music from individuals without record deals. If you have flash/java experience and want to help us build a secure interface for such a feature please let us know! In the future we also hope to release NLC sampler albums featuring music by the NLC members.
